We had the girliest time primping and posing and playing with lighting. She is such a “sport” in every sense of the word! Up for almost anything, she is extremely fit, and is such a natural in front of the camera. (Okay, in a few of these pictures, doesn’t she look like Michelle Pfeiffer?!  I think so!) In addition to being a natural beauty, her energy, enthusiasm and fitness level inspire me to no end!  Maybe there is hope after thirty (for me).

Miss J, you really must wear those jeans more often – off with the tags and onto the dance floor already!

I just think she’s dreamy. I bet her husband does, too.

We started in Jennifer’s beautiful offices (I loved the color combo she had selected: warm, welcoming, yet crisp and very stylish). It was tough to keep Starla off her lap. It probably didn’t help that for the first bit I was calling Starla “Stella” so she was not responding at all. But in the end, we were able to get plenty of images of just Jennifer, some with Susie and some featuring the lovely Starla as well.

I cannot imagine looking this beautiful when pregnant – Kristen pulls it off with amazing simplicity! (At least that is how it seems.) With her olive complexion and long limbs, she is elegant, yet strong and full of life and color. She is just a lovely person to be around!  And as you can tell, she and Justin do their share of laughing when together!  It is actually quite difficult to get a picture of them together when they are not laughing.

Our mini-session resulted in some great images.  Congratulations Justin and Kristen – big hugs!!! xoxox

Karie’s maternity portrait session took place on a kinda gray, partially drizzly Saturday morning in Walla Walla – but that didn’t stop Karie and I from having a great time creating some beautiful portraits.  It turned out her baby shower was the very same day (and ironically, I was headed to a baby shower later that afternoon as well – more to come on that).

We ended the session at Karie’s mom’s house – get a load of Karie’s eyes against the beautiful old garage door at the back of her mom’s property.  I just loved the color! Karie, best of luck to you during your last month or so of pregnancy.  I hope everything goes well, and I hope you enjoy the images from our mini-session!

And their mom, Brooke is as darling as she was in high school! I seriously cannot believe she is a mom of five-year olds!  I loved Brooke’s ideas for settings: she wanted both wheatfields, and portraits of her kids in one of her favorite childhood climbing trees (at Grandpa’s house).  It ended up as the perfect morning for both locations. Brooke, thank you for sharing your morning and your dahhhling kids with me last weekend!  I hope you enjoy these portraits.
